Between two waters

The sound at your back, the ocean a block ahead

The beach is one block away—about a five-minute walk—and the sound is steps from the porch. Mornings can start in the surf and end on a paddleboard without anyone getting in a car.

The town center is walkable too: coffee, the Loop, dinner, and back again on foot.

A house made by hand

Built in 1935, restored by the family

The cottage dates to 1935. The family's father—a master carpenter—led its restoration, and the family worked on it alongside him.

Original and reclaimed details are everywhere once you notice them: the heart-pine stair, the paneling, the trim. Nothing is precious about it. It is simply a house that was made by hand.

Room for the whole crew

Room to be together.

Stay Close sleeps 11 across 5 bedrooms and 5 baths—enough room for a multi-generational group to be together without being on top of one another.

The kitchen is built for feeding everyone, the common room opens up under the pine, and there is always another porch to slip away to.

The day ends on the porch

Sunset over Banks Channel

The porch looks toward Banks Channel, and the evening finds its way there on its own—salt still on everyone, dinner going inside, a drink while the light goes.
